We are delighted to be back working with long time clients as they launch a new website. A strong team in the mortgage industry you can now find their expertise at https://www.laframboisemortgage.ca/.
For each member we created headshots that will support them across social media platforms. Our clients are actively involved in creating images and we take suggestions you offer while shooting. The images for both Denise and Nicolee were part of Denise’s vision for the session making this a true collaboration of business and creativity.
The brick wall behind Charlotte and Syeda is in their office which is in the new building across from Brooklin’s Grass Park. Their stylish space is a wonderful place to sit and work out a new mortgage. We have had the pleasure of working with the team and can say they are all skilled
Using our Team Business package this team created a team photo alongside team headshots and a few additional images for social media to showcase the office. We are not sharing the entire shoot here because they are going to be using them in their own channels.
We have different levels of team business content for small, medium and large businesses that are developed to ensure the brand of the company is reflected in the final product. We offer natural light, studio and off camera flash lighting options that allow you to realize your brand images in a professional, high end way.

In working with Cathie we knew we wanted a downtown and urban feel to this session.
Cathie is an experienced graphic designer and visual artist. She has a passion for making the outsides of our buildings make sense . Numbers you can read, signage that works together, paint colours that bring it all together. A downtown location ties into the clientele she works with and their properties and brands. The art of design and way finding is why you can find your way through public spaces easily (or not so easily).
Our chosen location is the new, modern and hip coffee shop Brock St. Espresso on the main street in Whitby. Owned by David and Lorena Purchase this new hot spot has a clean, modern look, lots of historical and modern touches and most importantly espresso.
Using darker windows to make reflections is a great way to showcase a colourful downtown space’s colours and shapes without seeing letters and other branding that can interfere with our creation.
Cathie spends many a day at the local coffee shops working on a cup of hot cocoa while developing branding plans for her clientele. She loves Downtown Whitby and you can often find her sipping a cuppa at Brock St Espresso. Be sure to pop in to visit them – they are a staple in our downtown core.
Clients are meeting us more and more online. Having a strong set of images to show you and your working style is important. It creates an instant connection to you and your brand.

We work with a lot of professionals in a variety of different industries – what ties all business professionals together is the need for a headshot that reflects who they are right now. An image that is crisp, clear, with proper highlights in the eyes and an outfit that supports your brand but doesn’t compete with the intention – a portrait of the person wearing them.
Neil is in Insurance with CAA and needed a look that reflected the brand he works for and his own personal brand. The corporate look was using black as a background – this is a nice modern change from all white all the time. We did two black options and one white for his final three images.
When you work for a company be sure to send us your corporate brand specifications for headshots so we create a product they can use in line with their branding.
When shopping for work wear always consider one or two jackets that have some texture without too much of a pattern. These add a nice look to headshots which typically do not include any pattern. The texture should be uniform and a colour that works with your colouring. Hint – almost everyone looks good in a blue to navy colour story. Avoid stripes and plaids which can be hard to smooth while editing.
We can often however break the rule of a pattern if it is subtle enough. Note his plaid and navy jacket here reads as a solid with some visual interest. We always recommend bringing multiple options so we can help you edit your closet to the right look for you.
The listening or “Rhonda” poses are a staple here in the studio. We love how leaning forward elongates the neck, brings the shoulders into a listening pose and shows off the client no matter what age, gender or size they are. A little catch light in the eyes gives this pose the final touch.

A brand is something essential when starting your business. Many people ignore it or try do it yourself options that can hurt your brand or worse kill its success before it even has a chance to get started. So when a client comes to you while building her brand it’s the perfect time to include photographer who can adapt to the style of your brand.
Avoid using a photographer whose work all looks the same – your photography should reflect your brand not theirs. How can you tell they can handle this? Their work should show a variation of skills that allow them to understand not only natural light, off camera flash and studio light but also colour theory and how that impact the overall brand.
With over eight years experience in the Durham Region we have built relationships with locations that in a pinch will let us work on site. Those kind of partnerships are invaluable when making content for clients locally. Here we are working at Hy Hope Farm as they graciously let us use the gardens to showcase the nutritional aspects of the brand for this client.
Timing is everything with outdoor and food branding. We were lucky in late July to find some suitable produce to use for this shoot which was done with masks, social distancing and some creative positioning to make the most of the environment, the brand and keep everyone SAFE.
Showing things growing is so perfect for this brand. We grabbed the can, threw in some water and did a little watering for the garden while working. We had such a good time because when you have the right setting, an engaged client and a good idea of the end result it is magical.
As I walked the site before the client arrived I was looking for NEW in a site I have been lucky to work on several times over the past eight years. I walked past the garlic barn and went inside. It felt like I had walked into Rome, Italy where we spent our honeymoon. It was glorious and I showed it to her and how I could use it to frame the lower part of the photo. How many images of a garlic barn have you seen locally? Exactly.
No lie we were giddy in this garlic drying barn, the smell was better than chocolate and that is saying something from this certified chocoholic. Imagine the recipes these garlic bunches will make all over Durham and the health benefits that will bring. Heaven on earth.
Let us help you brand sparkle like Amanda’s and Nourished a Way a Life by connecting with us for a branding experience that will lay the foundation for your business. We capture sharp, skilled and brand appropriate images for your personal and business needs all fully insured in Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area.

We have been working for the last year with 1855 Whitby to ensure they have consistent member headshots for use on their website. This value add for members gives them a professional look in keeping with the other members at 1855 – Durham Region’s first and only technology accelerator.
Just some of the great features of our team headshot experience include:
- Quick modern set ups.
- Full PDF of what to wear and what NOT to wear for your employees.
- Versatility to work in both natural light and studio/Off Camera Flash scenarios on site at your business.
- On site viewing of images being taken so team member is involved in the making of their portrait and pose.
- On site choice of image for each team member increases efficiency.
- Consistent look across team members.
- When needed on site assitant to ensure a smooth process.
- Back up gear brought to every single session.
- Fully insured.
The process is pretty straight forward – here is what we need to quote on your team:
- The number of solo and group shots required.
- The location of your business.
- The style of image you wish to create – studio or on location/lifestyle
- Timeline for taking and delivering images.
