Ordering for your Graduate

Ordering for your Graduate

This blog post will bring you up to speed on how to easily order items for your Graduate after the experience is complete. We miss seeing you in the studio but for now this is the second best thing.

FYI: do not try to order on your phone and tablet, we always recommend ordering on a desktop as the best way forward. If this is not possible a tablet over a phone is always preferred.

Step 1 – In your email click the link to generate the gallery screen which will look something like this (below). You can also access this through your client portal.

Step 2 – On individual images you will have access to PRINTS, DIGITALS and CREDITS (the latter depending on your package as not all packages include prints).

Step 3 – For additional items not showing click the upper right hand corner button named ORDER ITEMS and click the item you wish to order. For this sample in the blog we are going to show a 12×12 plaque collage item.  NOTE: prices are subject to change without notice and over time.

Capture the experience.

2019 Oshawa-Whitby #1 Reader’s Choice Photo Studio of the year.
Teenagehood.

Teenagehood.

The teenager. We mark this time from age 13 to 19. They grow at an unprecedented rate, gain new found independence and often spend a lot of time on their own. After all figuring out all this change takes time, an abundant amount of sleep (the pandemic has been ideal for daily sleep ins).

Gone are the days of mini sessions, props and themed sessions. Teenagers don’t want to have anything to do with that. They have Instagram profiles, social circles and personal tastes that must be part of planning when working with this age group.

During the pandemic our oldest, our model for this session, turned 15. It was a quiet affair with no birthday parades, some embarrassing signs and a t-shirt from his mom to mark the occasion.

He is a quiet kid, with a strength of character and a simple aesthetic – plain grey t-shirts, jeans and runners are his thing. Any location needed to be simple, modern and urban to match his love of architecture, modern design (Le Corbusier and other modernists).

Sitting empty through the pandemic parking garages are a great spot to find some fresh, modern landscapes. I have been exploring these spots and loving the end result. We spend less than half an hour and walk out with amazing shots in a variety of spots with ever changing light during the golden hour.

Instead of cap and gown consider a Senior Experience to capture those amazing years of teenagehood. They are never the same after those 7 years and it is a great way to continue milestone sessions. It is also a great way to do an alternative graduation session – featuring the suit or the dress or whatever the graduate prefers to wear.

Each session is outside, socially distanced and captured with zoom lenses to keep us 6 feet or 2 metres apart during the process. We have a few different locations to allow your teenager the look and feel that best expresses who they are.

The Graduate Experience: Senior Kindergarten

The Graduate Experience: Senior Kindergarten

Break free of pre 2020 traditions and capture your Senior Kindergarten graduate’s milestone in our heirloom graduation photography sessions. A quick series of images in the Durham Region that capture the experience.

The accomplishment of a Kindergarten graduate is something a child never forgets. They are incredibly proud of their achievement. This is often their first experience with graduation in their short lives and the milestone deserves recognition – even when there is a pandemic.

We offer sessions with gowns that cover SK, High School, University and other graduate achievements. Our SK gown is Whitby blue – a great colour for any graduate in the Durham Region, too.

We include three images in each session so you can feature the gown/hat, the graduation suit, dress or outfit – whatever is your graduate’s style. Here we used the gown and threw in some fun toilet paper images, too.

The Graduate Experience: University

The Graduate Experience: University

The landscape for a 2020 Graduate is markedly different thanks to the onset of COVID-19 there is no question. Trinity Design Photography is offering Limited Edition graduate sessions outdoors for June and early July to help your graduate commemorate the milestone of graduation.

Our model here is one of the 2020 Graduates who finished her years at Ryerson University. You may recognize her from her 300+ hours of volunteer work in high school, her amazing teaching career through the Station Gallery.

Madelaine graduates with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, New Media and was a member of the Dean’s list.

Fall in love with your family all over again.

Fall in love with your family all over again.

Every time I walk through our rooms in the house I am falling back in love with experiences.

The first time our son ran a cross country race, the droplets of water that shook off him as he started the 1500 m in grade 4 and his recent graduation from grade school. The look on our middle son’s face as he danced ballet on stage for the first time, the love we have on our faces when we hugged on the grass near Cullen Central park during a family session. The crazy smile our third gives me every single time and I am worried one day will fade away.

Limited Space this fall.

From toddlers, to teens and in-betweens – we capture all the experiences – including that new puppy.

Under the Water

Under the Water

Water is a crazy place to try and take photos. As a photographer every fibre of your being tells you to keep your gear as far away from the wet stuff as you possibly can. In our professional water is death to my day to day gear.

Much like above the water – gear can give you an edge but the true magic is the artist using the gear. Under water requires a series of variables to create magical stories and portraits – clarity of the water, light, distance from subject – just to name a few.

Clear path ahead.

Under water photography gear ranges from inexpensive $100 kid proof, water proof point up to skies the limit budgets for cases for professional bodies and lenses. We own a couple $100 versions, a GO PRO Hero 5 and of course my professional gear (but no cases – so they live above on the land).

Much like above the water – gear can give you an edge but the true magic is the artist using the gear. Under water requires a series of variables to create magical stories and portraits – clarity of the water, light, distance from subject – just to name a few.

Pool reality is messy, churning, bubbly water.

So as the summer progresses we will continue to play above and below the water. We have a busy fall coming with the Downtown Whitby Beerfest and much more.
