Personal Branding : Kerri King, C.E.O.
Visual thinking is top of mind with CEO Kerri King of the Station Gallery in Whitby, Ontario so her latest headshot images needed to follow suit. Personal branding has become a must have in this day and age of social media.
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Kerri last year when we did her first session in downtown Whitby and we wanted to continue on the urban, local theme. Our location this session is the local craft brewery Little Beasts Brewing Company (located in the Wentworth/Thickson area).
The look we worked on played off the dark black walls in the brewery and paired that with Kerri’s classic style. Little Beasts has amazing west facing windows that allowed us to shoot all of her images with natural light.
The classic leather jacket with the touches of red create a frame around the face and neck for our client. A jacket like this compliments without stealing too much of the show from the main event, our client, Kerri King.
Pairing your outfit with timeless accessories is always a win when doing headshots. A solid silver bangle, stunning but simple ring and watch all add but do not detract from the outfit. The leaning portrait creates great lines in this pose and we offset the original so it could be used in gallery biography content with overlays as needed.
This bonus pose was from some of the alternate outfits and poses we experimented with. A headshot session is never “just one image” – we work to find the right pose for your body, the location and the right wardrobe, too. The contrast of the white on the black tells a completely unique visual story, while still in keeping with her overall personal brand.
